Rain on the Way

Who is ready for rain? Who is ready to let mother nature water their gardens and plants? I count about 1000 people raising their hands! The good news is we do have rain heading our way. The bad news is the timing, just in time for the weekend. An upper level low will slowly sink southward into the state and kind of hang around for several days. These type of systems tend to not move much so that is why we could see multiple rounds of storms. As for severe weather, I think it will be isolated but cannot be completely ruled out. An added bonus with the rain is that temperatures will not be as warm, unless you do not see rain then temps will be in the 90s.

Mother's Day Forecast

The first half of this weekend will be warm, humid, and windy. The second half will be much different. A cold front is scheduled to arrive Sunday morning and storms could pop up ahead of the front. All of this just in time for Mother's Day. So if you have outdoor plans on Sunday you might want to change them. This event will be like the last cold front passage we saw on Wednesday. Rain Totals

Some much needed rain fell across East Texas this morning. The heaviest was north of Nacogdoches, southwestward toward Crockett. Totals in some spots were over 3.00 inches! Closer to Lufkin, totals were only around .25-.50 inches. We are still in a moderate drought and could use a lot more rain.
