The scattered thunderstorms rolling across East Texas this afternoon have knocked down a few trees. Some of these downed trees may be a result of a couple of factors.
Either they were caused by some wind gusts up to 50 mph, or, in my opinion, may have been directly hit by a lightning strike.
The storms have also caused some power outages in the metro areas of Lufkin as well.
Right now, most of the storms are down in Polk county, from Corrigan down towards Lake Livingston, and extending east towards Sabine county.
If you have any reports of trees or power lines down, along with power outages, please feel free to send us an email to weather@ktre.com, and let us know.
